What we offer
Three dorm rooms with bunk beds, sleeping a total of 60 guests
Four double rooms, each with a double bed and en suite bathroom
Indoor entertainment area with two fridges and a large freezer
Morning kitchen and dishwashing service
Enclosed and open braai areas
Wood can be arranged at R100 for 50 pieces on booking.

Bedding is provided but guests need to bring their own towels


Fishing : free of charge , please bring your own equipment.
Swimming in the Berg river

Canoeing : charged at R200 per canoe for 1 hour                                                                                                            Clay pigeon shooting: R200 per person for 10 clays).Minimum 6 pax .

Please note that paid for  activities are subject to availability and must be booked two weeks prior to arrival.

Check in is 2pm-6pm and check out is 10 am , early check in or late check out can be arranged with Kate if done so prior to arrival via email  and a R250 fee will be charged .


Minimum 2 night stay.

Rates for 2020: R6200pn(20pax) +R150pppn thereafter . Max capacity 80 pax

R500 Refundable Breakage Deposit will be charged

Meals - Working up an appetite

The Fort’s kitchen is kitted out for your self catering holiday or event, but if you would like a night off, a spit roast dinner can be arranged. Please enquire about our prices.

Take the N1, out of Cape Town, heading in the direction of Paarl.
Take the Stellenbosch/ Wellington off ramp, turn left in the direction of Wellington (R44).
Drive straight with the R44 into Wellington. At the first traffic light in Wellington turn left, sign reads R44 Porterville.
Drive straight for approximately 45km, passing Hermon. You will then get a turn-off to the left, sign reads R44 Gouda/ Porterville.
Turn left and drive for approximately 11km heading in the direction of Porterville.
You will see the Buffalo Drift sign board on the left hand side of the road, come through the gates and follow the signs to the Lodge Office.
This drive should take no longer than 1 hr and 10 min.
